Our Inspiration |
 |
Marcel Quesnel known as Tabac, father of 5 children, 4
girls and 1 boy and husband of Pauline Quesnel, Marcel was a
country music fanatic since I can remember as a little boy.
I remember 8 track cassette, George Jones, Tammy Wynette,
Hank Snow and a lot more. Working in the restaurant business
all his life, Alexandria B.B.Q. for 30 years then left to
St-Polycarpe 27 years ago in 1978 then in the 80’s move to
Alexandria. After the Alexandria Hotel, then the Skidoo
Club, they moved to Vankleek Hill and that’s where the
Country Fever started. Open a restaurant in Vankleek Hill
then did is 1st Festival in 1986. Then 1987 they left
Vankleek Hill to move to Green Valley and did the First
Festival in Glengarry in the year 2000 and 2001. Then he
decided to go BIGGER so went to the Alexandria Airport
2002-2003 and over 10,000 people showed up. Then Marcel Tabac Quesnel left us on
January 3, 2004, so that’s why
there was no Festival in 2004. But the son was there to help
him at all his festival so with the experience he got from
his Dad, he and his wife Lou-Lou and the knowledge of his
mom Pauline, he hopes to succeed on his First Festival
without the help of his Dad. One thing I am sure, that my
DAD will be behind me all the way. Hope to see you all there
to have fun on September 1st to 4th, 2005 in memory of my
Dad. I hope people will come and support us and hoping the
Festival will go on for many more years to come.
Thank you
Tabac Jr Quesnel
Rest in peace DAD
We love you
